              Infra-Red Drying of Textiles

Results of an investigation of infra-red drying of textiles are embodied in a thesis presented by the author in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn. The author of the thesis con cludes that the present infra-red ray gas generators de pend for their drying properties mostly on convected heat. However, these generators provide a compact and useful method of drying, which has definite merit when judiciously applied. Test results, including an abstract of methods and description of apparatus employed, are given below. The critical review of literature and bibli ography of the subject are contained in a separate mime ographed report being issued currently to members of Textile Research Institute, Inc.
